This intimate converted barn is in a rural setting at the foot of Lugnagulla mountain. Just 10 minutes from Donard village, 1.5 hours from Dublin. Perfect for walkers being only 3 miles from the Wicklow Way walking route. A compact and bijoux open plan living area. A TV is provided for DVD viewing (DVD's provided) as there is poor reception. Baltinglass is 6 miles away, and the picturesque town of Aughrim, 20 minute drive; with hotel and award winning restaurant. Several local pubs do food, and there are nearby cafes, including one that serves scrummy organic food. Golf and horse riding are nearby.

Glendalough, also known as the Glen of two lakes (17 miles) - one of the most important sites of monastic ruins in Ireland, dating from 1400 years ago, also known as the city of the seven churches; lots of local crafts; stunningly beautiful countryside.
Devil's Glen, also known as the Meeting of the Waters (30 miles) - the meeting point of the Rivers Avonmore and Avonbeg, which was immortalised 200 years ago by the poet, Thomas Moore, who, sitting on a rustic seat formed from the root of a tree, wrote the words of the Irish melody, 'The Meeting of the Waters'. The adjacent pub, The Meetings, is renowned for outdoor traditional music.
Avoca (30 miles) - better known to TV viewers as Ballykissangel; beautiful scenery and the woollen mill to visit.
Russborough House (12 miles) - a granite-built Palladian house (built in 1741) in spectacular natural surroundings, perfectly preserved - beautifully maintained, with fine furniture, tapestries, carpets, porcelain, silver and bronzes.
Curragh racecourse (20 miles) - curragh means place of the running horse; this is the headquarters of flat racing in Ireland; regular meetings.
Irish National Stud (23 miles) - not only a leading stud farm for the development and promotion of Irish bloodstock, but also the site of the Japanese Gardens - "the finest Japanese Gardens in Europe", Saint Fiachra's Garden - woodland and lakeside walks, and a horse museum - a state of the art modern exhibition "where the Sport of Kings comes to life".
Golf - there are two golf courses nearby: one in Baltinglass and one in Glenmalure - both 18 hole.
Horse riding - there are stables in Knockananna, 20 miles away.
