Duncannon is a small seaside village with a handful of independent shops, three restaurants, two bars, a cafe and a post office.
New Ross town is eleven miles away from the property and has a larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. There are supermarkets such as Aldi and Tesco, a few pharmacies and banks.

~ Duncannon Fort is open from May to late August and is an impressive fortress on the side of the Hook Peninsula. Over 450 years old, it holds one of the best vantage points of the Waterford Estuary and holds much history within it's walls.
