Bansha (2 miles) is a small village with a pub, butcher shop (highly recommended for local meats), garage and a number of small grocery shops.
Tipperary Town (6 miles) is a larger town with large supermarkets, several lively pubs which serve bar food, take away restaurants and Kiely's pub on the Main St is a good place for lunch.
Cahir (6 miles) has a number of restaurants and pubs serving food. The Galtee Inn in the Square is great for a steak. The Galileo is great for a pizza. There is a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings.
Located 2 miles from the banks of the River Suir which is renowned as one of Europe's finest dry fly rivers for wild trout. There are also very good runs of salmon depending on water levels and conditions. Permits are required.
