Ballinlough has a shop, restaurants and a cafe. There are buses that run from Ballinlough to Dublin, Derry and Waterford.
Ballyhaunis has shops, a supermarket, pubs, restaurants, banks, ATM's, a pharmacy, a post office and a train station with trains running to Dublin, Westport and Ballina.
~ Lough O'Flynn, just north of Ballinlough, is renowned for its brown trout fishing, perfect for keen anglers. Fishing permits can be purchased online.
~ Ballinlough is home to Black Donkey Brewing Ltd. Co. Roscommon's only brewery, best known for their farmhouse ale, "Sheep Stealer", so named after Roscommon's county nickname. The brewery offers tours which can be booked on their website.
