The granary has its own private garden and patio overlooking an apple orchard, while guests are welcome to enjoy the flower gardens and allees on the property. Situated between Mayoabbey and Ballyglass, it is an ideal location for exploring the larger towns and the wild, dramatic sites of Co. Mayo, Co. Galway and Co. Sligo. In this bucolic setting, you can leisurely experience the traditional flavour of life in the West of Ireland. There is free Wi-Fi for guests to use.

Mayoabbey is the nearest small village, it has a church, pub, general store and a post-office. Balla hosts traditional Irish music nights on Tuesdays at Mannion's Pub. Claremorris has many shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, several supermarkets, a couple of pharmacies and 3 banks with ATM's.
Castlebar (10 miles) is the county town of Co. Mayo, and Westport (17 miles) with a large variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, takeaways, threatre, entertainment bars and pubs. There are several large supermarkets, many pharmacies, Mayo County Hospital with an A and E and a cinema. Westport is often described as Ireland's most lively town.
