It stretches around 1.5km long and is perfect for families with its golden sands and clear blue waters. A slow pace experience on this Wild Atlantic Way.

Gweesalia is a small village with a post office, cafe, pub and two general stores.
Bangor Erris is a small town with three pubs, a cafe, a petrol station, a restaurant, a general store and a pharmacy.
Belmullet is a large town with more of the above and additionally, an Aldi supermarket.
- Carrowmore Lake, just North of Bangor Erris, is around 1000 hectares of water offers boat fishing upon arrangement with the fishing manager and common catches there are spring salmon and sea and brown trout.
- Birdwatching is rife in the area with marshlands and off-shore opportunities to be had.
- The Bangor Trail is a remote hiking trail covering 40km fron Bangor to Newport. It is a waymarked trail but can take at least 10 hours to complete. The trail can be shortened to 26km by starting at Letterkeen.
- Doolough Beach is just over three miles away and hosts part of the festivites during Gweesalia Festival. It stretches around 1.5km long and is perfect for families with its golden sands and clear blue waters. The beach offers beautiful views of the Mullet to the West, and Achill Mountains to the East.
