Many other attractions include golf, heritage sites and hillwalking. For those wanting to stay closer to home, there is a lakeside beach only a few minutes walk from the cottage, accessed through fields.

In addition to the local golf course there are others at Belmullet (20 miles) and Enniscrone (18 miles). There are also two equestrian centres in Knockmore (10 miles - telephone 096 58175 ) and Ballina (12 miles - telephone 096 45084). There is a fishing lake very near to the property - within 1/2 mile - Lough Conn offers trout fishing with boats and gullies available to hire. Sea fishing and daily boat trips leave from Killala bay (Sun seeker Boat Trips - 087 244 6902) and river fishing trips are available from Crossmolina and Ballina.

Find out about the "Addergoole fourteen", the 14 individuals from the area who travelled on the ill-fated Titanic in 1912. 11 drowned and 3 survived.
