Situated close to the Greenway Trail, there is lots to do in Achill with activities for the whole family.

Achill Sound is a village to the East of Achill Island with a couple of supermarkets, a small variety of pubs and a couple of restaurants to choose from. There is also a post office, a couple of ATM's, a doctors surgery and a yoga studio.
Achill Sound is the starting place of the scenic cycling and walking trail, Great Western Greenway. Escape the bustle of urban life on the 42km off-road trail. The World Class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937.
There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas of Achill Island with fishing, cycling, golf and whale/dolphin/shark watching to name a few of the plentiful tourist attractions on the Island. There is weekly entertainment held across the Island with things such as live bands, theme nights and sporting competitions to enjoy or take part in as well as festivals throughout the year.
Achill Island is at the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, and Keem Bay is one of the 14 Signature Discovery Points that span the 2500km route. The scenery of the west coast of Ireland is breathtaking and Achill epitomises all that is wild about the route with ancient castles, towering cliffs, windswept beaches and untamed landscapes.
