Offaly Holiday Cottages

We've got great holiday cottages for rent throughout Offaly from Banagher (near Birr and Leap Castles) and Cloghan (near Clonmacnoise) in the west and Tullamore (near the Slieve Bloom Mountains). Offaly is the home of the ecclesiastical city of Clonmacnoise (dating back to 545AD), one of Ireland's most famous sites. But in addition it's lowlands are dotted with monastic ruins, its towns are steeped in history and it has a burgeoning foodie culture. Geographically Offaly is dominated by low lying peat bogs. Enormous expanses like the Bog of Allen and the Boora Bog have peat extracted on an industrial scale. However in the North East corner of the County, 665 hectare Clara Bog is remarkably untouched and recognised internationally for its plant and animal life. To the East the rugged Slieve Bloom Mountains provide excellent walking and fishing. The North western part is the floodplain of the River Shannon where water sports are popular. So if you need a holiday cottage or a self catering holiday home in Offaly suitable for your family just see if one fits the bill on the map.
