It is within walking distance of Kenmare town, which oozes charm with its art galleries, craft shops and gourmet dining. Enjoy traditional music in many pubs. It is centrally placed for touring; convenient for the Killarney Lakes, Ring of Kerry and Beara Peninsula. The Old Kenmare/Killarney Road is a noted hillwalking route whilst Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain in the Macgillycuddy Reeks, is a must for hillwalkers.

Kenmare (1.5 miles away) is a town located at the head of Kenmare Bay at the junction of the Iveragh Peninsula and the Beara Peninsula. A popular tourist destination with much to see such as; Kenmare Stone Circle, Reenagross Park, Beara Way Walk and Kenmare Golf Club. Kenmare has a range of restaurants and traditional pubs.
