The Kerry Walking route and Caragh River - one of Europe's cleanest rivers popular for salmon and trout fishing is on your doorstep. Fowl shooting and Deerstalking are popular sports from September whilst outdoors enthusiast can visit Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre (2.8 miles).

Glencar is famous for its rough shooting Woodcock, Snipe, Pheasant, Duck and Hare from November to January. Deerstalking is also available from September.
Shooting and fishing are available locally and there is a daily charge for both and permits are required for both shooting and fishing and these can be organised directly with the owner. Costs vary for the permits / licenses.
The Upper Caragh River is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. One of Europe's Cleanest rivers. Permits arranged at an additional cost which can vary in price.
