Local attractions include the historic village of Cong where the John Wayne movie was made. Ashford Castle, Connemara National Park and vibrant Galway City.

Cornamona a stroll away has a pub and a shop whereas the larger villages of Clonbur (6.25 miles) and Cong (8.6 miles) have a larger selection of pubs and restaurants.
