Clifden is only seven minutes' drive away and has Aldi and SuperValu supermarkets, a cafe, craft shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants, 2 banks, 3 ATM's, a pharmacy and a post office.
- Connemara National Park covers 2,957 hectares of beautiful mountains, bogs, heats, grasslands and woodlands. There are picnic areas, nature trails, tea rooms and a visitors' centre to enjoy.
- Connemara Smokehouse economusee and Visitor Centre is Connemara's longest established smokehouse specialising in Irish smoked salmon and tuna. Summer tours are available throughout June, July and August offering a behind the scenes tour of the processes and an opportunity to sample the produce.
- Derrigimlagh/Macroni Looped Walk is a 5km trail through the Derrygimlagh bog complex. It is a rugged, wild walk with a number of interesting features along the trail offering insight in to the history of the area.
- Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Gardens offer history talks and guided tours available, shops, cafe and events held onsite as well. Tickets can be purchased online or on arrival. Visitor centre and estate admission open 9am-6pm daily.
