There is much to explore along the rugged coastline of Connemara. Omey Island is only 2 miles away and is accessible at low tide on foot along the beautiful sandy beach. Clifden is 15 minutes' drive away whilst, Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park are 20 minutes drive. The scheduled ferry across to Innisboffin departs from Cleggan 2 miles

Claddaghduff is a small village with a pub, petrol station/shop and a church. The bar does food and live music on weekends.
Cleggan is a fishing village with four pubs, one restaurant and a grocery store.
Clifden is a large town with a variety of independent and artisan boutiques, restaurants, pubs and cafes. There are three banks, a post office, a pharmacy, a bakery, a butchers and supermarkets including Lidl, Aldi and SuperValu. There is also a tourist office to provide lots of information on the area and things to do!
~ Omey Island is just off the coast of Claddaghduff and is accessible at low tide by foot or by car. Omey Strand is extremely popular for pony trekking and coastal walks but be sure to check the tide times before heading out!
~ Western Kingfisher Sea Angling operate out of Cleggan Harbour and offer guided deep sea angling boat charters. Equipment is available to hire on board and there is a good variety of fish to catch during the trip.
~ Cleggan Harbour also operates trips to Inishbofin Island on a ferry. The island is steeped in history and has much to experience. There are a number of festivals, events, beautiful beaches, looped walks and rare bird watching.
~ Connemara National Park in Letterfrack is a vast expanse of mountains, bogs, grassland and woodland to explore. There is a visitors centre with walks, nature trails and an adventure playground for all the family to enjoy.
