Hemker Party, June 2019
It was a very lovely 200 years old Cottage in a very nice surroundings. The owner was really very nice and accommodating.

The Mccabe Party, May 2019
The cottage is beautiful and the owner is very welcoming. The cottage is very well equipped, with everything you could need and is really comfortable - a real home from home. It is a beautiful location and is ideally situated for visiting both Southern and Northern Ireland. This was our second visit and we would definitely go again.

Tuff Family, April 2019
This cottage was everything we expected and more it had everything that we needed and so private and comfortable. I would recommend to any couple and our wee Yorkie alos enjoyed the stay we hope to book again this year.

Helpful owner, excellent stay

Atcheson, December 2018
Property was excellent for our dog, who has spinal problems. It was excellent for her and had everything we wanted for a quiet few days away. A great cottage

The Loewe-Bruhn, October 2018
Third time in my favourite cottage. It ticks all the boxes - lovely location with a lot of touring opportunities, friendly owner with great taste for decor, old-world cottage feeling with all modern amenities. Thank you, Helen! Hope to be back!

Neil, August 2018
Thank you for sharing Ferryhill Cottage with us. You have a delightful cottage in a lovely location, so close to the medival village of Carlingford and it's wonderful scenery. The cottage had all the amenities we could have hoped for and was sparkling clean. Thank you again for allowing us to share your lovely home.

Jennie, July 2018
This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful spot. We were thrilled when we saw it. So peaceful and secluded and it gets the sun all day which was a bonus as Ireland was having fantastic weather. The garden is large and fenced in. the house inside is very spacious but also cosy. Furnished very nicely with everything you might need for cooking in. There is a pub within walking distance wich apparently does good food but only Thursday to Sunday so we missed out there. However Newry is just along the waters edge and we got a very reasonable and tasty Indian take out from there. There is also a Sainsburys which was very easy to find and park at. The village has a shop at the garage for basics which you need to drive to and there is a wee off licence beside the pub across the road. The area was beautiful and the views down onto the river from the cottage were great. Plus fabulous walks alongside either the canal in one direction or the river the other way. We definitely want to return and propabably for longer. Fabulous place!

John, May 2018
Cottage is lovely and very spacious. It has everything you need. It was sparkling clean and is as the pictures show. The information provided in a folder is extensive and directions spot on. Don't look any further if you are looking for a place to stay in the area.

Norrie, April 2018
Lovely cottage with good views. Accommodation retains original features that give the cottage character, alongside modern comforts. Cottage is clean, well equipped, private and in good location for walks and cycling. We are planning another long weekend at the cottage.

Lynne, February 2018
Don't hesitate to book this cottage. We felt at home from the minute we arrived, something special about it. The pub down the road served lovely food with great staff and atmosphere.

Clare, February 2018
Helen's cottage is just perfect! So handy to walk to the pub which serves delicious food as well as warm fire and atmosphere. Locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. Cottage itself is the perfect mix of traditional amd modern. Extremely clean with lots of little thoughtful touches.

Hardo, January 2018
An amazing property. A thorough country feel. Halfway up a hill, so a pleasant view. Pub in walking distance.

Karen, October 2017
The owner has thoughfully considered every possible need down to torch and candles and the phone number of her neighbours. The cottage sitting room is so cosy, just the place to curl up after a wild walk on lovely Templetown Beach with a glass of wine and one of her great selection of DVD's or music CD's. We would look out at the stunning mountain scenery. Such a peaceful quiet location yet so accessible to visit Carlingford and the wee villages around Ravendale and the Fairy Forest. The cafe at Slieve Gullion forest Park is excellent.

Chris and Meg, October 2017
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The location was convenient to both Newry and Carlingford, and not far from the area where our Irish ancestors lived. It was remarkable to us that the house was apparently an update of a 200-year-old. This was apparent in some respects, but every contemporary convenience was included, so it was simply an interesting mix of old and new. Thanks for sharing your home!

Stuart, August 2017
A wonderful place to stay and a perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the world. The cottage is clean and cosy and well equipped. It has stunning views and a lovely garden to relax in after a day's sightseeing. Highly recommended.

Valerie, August 2017
What a delightful cottage. The sitting area gives the flavour of the original cottage and the kitchen has everything needed in the modern world and the bedroom and bathroom are cosy but again have all conveniences necessary. The cottage is terrific value for money and the owner is a delightful host. The area has plenty to see and do and shopping in Newry is excellent. All in all a wonderful stay in Omeath in a very clean, well equipped house.

Plunkett, June 2017
This is an absolutely lovely spot for a couple. It looks out over Carlingofrd Lough and the Mountains of Mourne.. With the beautiful Cooley Mountains at your back. The cottage is so cute; but very well equipped. Our only regret is that we had to leave.

Plunkett, June 2017
We were very comfortable in this newly renovated, traditional Irish cottage. Well appointed, and VERY quiet! We stayed for 5 nights, and were so glad that we did. The charming hillside locale, overlooking Carlingford Lough was magical. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the pub down the hill, Cornamucklagh House too. Don't pass up on this little slice of Heaven.

Gerard, April 2017
You simply will love this cottage from the moment you arrive, what a setting! The inside had all mod cons and was cosy. Local pubs and amenities were handy - an absolute gem of a place!

Fitzpatrick, Belfast, February 2017
Lovely place, really cosy, clean and tasteful, with everything we could need and more. The location is outstanding with beautiful views of the Newry River. A delightful cottage.

Karakaschev, Dublin, February 2017
The cottage is situated in a picturesque and private area, but not far away from shops and restaurants. It is an AMAZING house that offers a full range of modern amenities. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a holiday where they can combine hill hiking, shopping and fine dining. You won't be disappointed

Maeve, Cork, December 2016
What a time was had! The cottage was done up with Christmas decorations that made it even more snug and special. Like a little winter hideaway. Such a modern home with all the charm of the old world.

Reed, Bristol, December 2016
The cottage was set in a beautiful location. It was very quiet and remote enough to keep yourself private, but close distance to the local town centre for access to the supermarket, shopping centres, pubs and restaurants. We felt very at home with the Christmas decorations, homely and relaxed. We were provided with a very detailed house manual, books, dvds and sky tv. The host's attention to detail was not unnoticed-we enjoyed the visitors book, book club and overall organisation. Top host!

An Emerald Gem
When my wife and I arrived at the cottage and saw where it was situated and what the interior was like, we were disappointed ....disappointed because we hadn't found this little cottage years ago. It is beautiful! If you've ever wanted to stay in a traditional Irish stone cottage but still want the comforts of modern day living, then this is the place for you. This cottage has been tastefully modernised without losing the feel of yesterday. Besides having a large wood burner it has full central heating and all the comforts we enjoy today. The cottage is small and is really only suitable for two people. It is a real home from home. The cottage is situated on a hill overlooking an inlet from Carlington Lough with beautiful views of the foothills of the Mourne mountains to the front and the Cooley mountains to the rear. There is an excellent pub/restaurant only150 yards away and the village of Omeath a short drive away. The town of Carlingford and the city of Newry with it's many shops are within 15 minutes by car. This cottage is ideal for exploring both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. A real gem in the Emerald Isle!

Quinn Party, May 2016
The cottage is delightful in a lovely setting. Good locations for visiting all the surrounding areas especially the beautiful Mountains of Mourne, A warm comfortable stay.

The McCabe party, August 2014
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. We had a wonderful two weeks. The cottage was perfect and was extremely well equipped - everything we could have possibly needed was there. It was in a beautiful setting, too. The owner was lovely and very welcoming and we would definitely recommend staying at this cottage.

The Rossney party, September 2013
'Wonderful in every way' This has to be one of the most relaxing and pleasant self-catering cottages I've ever stayed in. The house itself was perfect - not only was it wonderfully intimate, quiet and comfortable, but it was carefully stocked with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The owners thought of everything! But its location is also excellent: nestled on the hillside, the views are wonderful, just up the road is the Flagstaff viewpoint with its stunning views of the surrounding countryside, there's a fine pub/restaurant less than five minutes' walk away, while with the car the historic village of Carlingford with its fine restaurants is ten minutes away, and Newry is a couple of minutes away for the shops. But from here one can explore the Cooleys, the Mournes, the countryside of Down and Armagh, and because the motorway is just across the mountain (a ten minute drive) it's a great base for heading to Belfast, County Meath, or even Dublin. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough: I'd love to go again!

The Martin party, June 2013
Beautiful cottage, wonderful setting, great value for money, considerate owner. Cottage is cozy, modern, clean, has all the mod cons. I stayed with my husband and our dog, we all had a great time. The cottage is surrounded by wonderful scenery. Beautiful mountainous woods to the back and a great view of a lough at the front. I would recommend this cottage if you are looking for somewhere to chill out and recharge your batteries or as a base to come home to in the evening after calling to the towns and cites that are so excessible. Extremely happy :-)

The Madigans, June 2013
This cottage is a beautiful, romantic cottage. To the front there are fabulous views of the Newry river and the rolling pictureqsque countryside of County Down. There are equally spectacular views of the coaley mountains of green forest to the rear of the property.

Ms Loewe-Bruhn, October 2012
The cottage combines old world charm with new and modern devices. We enjoyed our week very much and will be back.

Deane, September 2012
On first seeing the property we were very impressed. The welcome which we received from the owner was warm and friendly.

The best thing about the property is its great location.

Linda Taylor, August 2012
The cottage was easy to find, and within easy reach of Dublin Port. There are many places to visit on both sides of the border. We had everything we neede there, we have stayed in holiday cottages/houses since 1993, and this would rank way up at the top.

Joanna Arnold, July 2012
Perfect in every way!Full of character but with all modern appliances and the most wonderful view. Comfy and homely, spotlessly clean and full of atmosphere! Complete privacy at the back with a view of the hills behind and the ever changing beautiful skies.Near Sainsburys in The Quays, Newry and also near a wonderful pub with great grub and beautiful garden, 2 mins down the road by foot. From the cottage you can see Narrow Water Castle and the green fields of County Down. Simply wonderful and the nicest host Helen!! Perfect for two people! (Trip Advisor)

Mrs Ann Denniston, June 2012
This was our 2nd visit and made without hesitation. The location and position of the proerty is excellent. The property is beautifully furnished and is like home from home. The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful. All in all a great holiday property for two.

The Murphy party, June 2012
Perfect Place for Two. We stayed here in June 2012. It was outstanding value, we had a great welcome and the owner took genuine care in making sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves.
We had looked initially at Carlingford but found it very expensive; beforehand I had some reservations about Omeath, mainly because it wasn't Carlingford, but its location was brilliant and being nearer to Newry meant the journeys out to The Mourne Mountains and others which meant we needed to go through Newry were shorter - and Carlingford is just down the road. When we go back we will try to book again.

Miss Wood, June 2012
Our stay here was not only relaxing, but a home away from home. The property offered everything you could ask for in a holiday Cottage- comfy beds, great location, excellent host and great value for money. We would definitely return. Thank you.
