The O'Neill Party, August 2019
We rated this as the best holiday we have been on , don't need to go anywhere else this house has it all

Shaw, June 2019
The cottage is a little way off the main Sligo - Galway road and as such has easy access for touring especially in the Donegal / Sligo / Mayo area as well as the midlands. John, the host, is very friendly and welcoming and goes out of his way to ensure everything is as needed. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, we were even able to bake soda bread and muffins during our stay. The scenery around the cottage is beautiful and creates a restful environment. Cannot recommend enough, and will stay again!

The Doherty Family, May 2019
We love your house and farm. The best surprise was seeing Ruby (dog) at the kitchen window after 12 pm when we thought it was early morning! We look forward to coming back to stay for a longer time at this special place. Thank you for your hospitality.

The Rowsells, May 2019
Our third visit - 2 weeks this time! As delightful as the first two previous visits - nothing to improve as it is perfect! Hopefully be back again in 2019. Thank you as always to the owners.

Mary, April 2019
Beautiful location. Amazing cottage with everything you need set in forest area with marked walking trails. Exceptional hosts who were friendly, helpful and informative. We loved it and so did our two dogs who were also warmly welcomed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Coop party, March 2019
How lucky were we to find this gem of a property! Absolutely fabulous location, wonderful hosts and a beautiful property. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and there were lots of welcoming touches like fresh flowers, fresh eggs, fruit and local produce and ths cottage was warm and cosy. We enjoyed great forest walks . We highly recommend this property, it is one of the best we have every stayed in.

Marla, March 2019
Lovely visit. Cottage was amazing and hosts were awesome and delightful and super helpful. Can't wait to visit again.

Ainger family, February 2019
This has been an absolute gem of a find. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who met us with organic fruit, milk and home grown potatoes. The owner has done a wonderful job of restoring the property which is comfortable and warm and features some attractive hand crafted wood furniture. It is equipped with everything you need for self catering. A great location for exploring neighbouring areas. We thoroughly recommend a stay here

The McCarricks/Crowleys/Wallaces, December 2018
We love your house and farm. The best surprise was seeing Ruby (dog) at the kitchen window after 12 pm when we thought it was early morning! We look forward to coming back to stay for a longer time at this special place. Thank you for your hospitality.

The Blair Family, September 2018
What can we say? Perfect. We just can't fault the cottage and our hosts. Loved the craic and the wee ceilidh.

Jones family, September 2018
We found that the family were very friendly and helpful, they were extremely helpful and kind in leaving us parcels of veg and other items. They have some very friendly pets. The cottage its self was immaculately clean and tidy. Area was very close to travel to interesting places. Thank you for a fabulous holiday.

Paulette, Brian, Bailey, September 2018
Thank you for making our stay in your beautiful cottage such a wonderful experience, and thank you also for the generous and fresh supply of vegetables, it was much appreciated. Will highly recommend your fabulous place to others, and hope to see you all in the not-too-distant future.

Falk, Corinne, Elisabeth and Friederike - Germany, August 2018
It was our 2 visit and we enjoyed it soooo.....!! Much. Thank you for your welcome with flowers, fruits and tart. We are happy that we can come back next summer. Thank you for a very relaxed stay and that the girls had the bicycles. We enjoyed to talk with you about Ireland, Germany, history. We wish you all the best for the year. See you next year

The Keane's, June 2018
We have had a lovely, peaceful week in this lovely, comfortable cottage. Unbelievable weather - 25-30 degrees everyday! Thank you for the provisions and the freshly-picked lettuce! Lovely to meet you. We had some enjoyable chats about haymaking! Thank you very much.

We just passed a sublime two weeks in the bucolic beauty of your wonderful farm. We were truly home and will see you again!

Helen and Mike, April 2018
Thank you so much for the apple pie, delicious eggs and potatoes - and especially for the interesting conversations and warm welcome. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in your lovely comfortable cottage whilst exploring all around the area. So nice - and unexpected!!- to find the trace of home (Wigan) here in the middle of Ireland. Thank you to the owners for everything. Best wishes. Ps. Especially loved the bird-life - and our own special friend, the coal tit!!!

We asked our oldest son what word he would use to describe our week in Sligo and he said "brilliant!". I think we would all agree wholeheartedly. We've had a fantastic time visiting as many of the local sights as we could manage - we'll have to come back to see the rest! But what has really made this holiday special is the beautiful cottage we've been lucky enough to stay in along with the warmth and hospitality we've received. The boys have loved feeding the sheep and geese and collecting eggs. The both want to take Ruby the dog home with them....they've fallen in love. We've been bowled over by your generosity. Thanks again and hope to be back.

The Goutcher Family, March 2018
A quiet location but close enough to town. Ideal location for exploring Sligo and Mayo. The owners were very welcoming.

Ray and Andy, January 2018
A very enjoyable week in a snowy Sligo. We were mainly here to test some newly designed aerials. However we visited Achill Island and Enniskillen. The aerials worked better than expected. The location is superb. Many thanks.

John and Maggie, Devon, England, September 2017
Thank you all for a wonderful holiday. We have enjoyed the beauty of this part of Ireland. Hospitality has been second to none. Thank you again.

Catherine and Bob, Tunbridge Wells, England, September 2017
Many thanks to John, his family, and of course the dogs, for giving us such a warm welcome and making our stay in Sligo so enjoyable. Lovely to spend some time on a farm - really peaceful! The fresh vegetables were a treat and a chance for us to cook some Irish meals. We were quite lucky with the weather and had three sunny days. Recommend Carrowmore neolithic burial site and the walk to the top of Knocknarea - fantastic views. Music on Tuesday evenings at "Roisin Dubh" in Gurteen well worth the trip out - they get going about 9.30 p.m. though. Once again, many thanks for a lovely stay.

Sue, Ray, Deborah, England, September 2017
A busy but relaxing week in this wonderful cottage nestled peacefully in the Sligo countryside. We have felt welcome and cared for. The fresh vegetables were an unexpected and very delicious surprise! And we've really enjoyed exploring the interesting woods - complete with fresh blackberries and damsons to include in our 'self-catering'. You have made this a very special place to visit. Best wishes and thank you.

Schulze family, Germany, June 2017
We spent the holidays of the last years in this area and now we are so happy, that we found you and your sweet and lovely cottage. We spent wonderful days here with so much fun with the animals. The girls enjoyed to feed the sheeps, ducks and then to play with Ruby. Thank you for the lettuce from your amazing garden and the plants that you gave to me for my garden. We hope we'll come back to this wonderful place. With best wishes to all of you and a great THANK YOU! PS: We recommend: the summer music sessions at the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen, each Wednesday at 8.30 p.m; Eagles Flying, Ballymote; Streedagh Beach, Grange; and a lunch at the "Bay Leaf Restaurant" in Horkan's, Turlough.

Niamh, Aoife, Aine, John, Fiona, Breda, USA, June 2017
This was by far one of the best stays we've ever had in Ireland! When we first arrived, it was obvious this holiday would be filled with adventure, beauty, and lots of animals! We absolutely loved feeding the ewes and lambs, exploring the Dark Forest, and marvelling over the gorgeous gardens of the farm. We will surely never forget your constant hospitality or the comfort and excitement that this house brought us. I am almost positive that, as we move on to the next destination, it will not even come close to comparing with this lush, beautiful farm. Ruby brightened every morning with her endlessly wagging tail, and there was not a dull moment on this trip. Thanks a million.

L. Kinder, M. Bodnar and S. Ford, USA, June 2017
Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality over the past few days - from the delicious fruits and veggies from your garden to the beautiful hand-picked flowers decorating your space. Our stay has been an absolute pleasure and delight! When we pulled up to the lane, greeted by the stunning flora, adorably friendly ewe and lambs, and finally by the owner, we knew we were lucky to have found this very special place! To the owners, you've both been so kind, engaging and flexible, and we've enjoyed chatting with you about the impressive history of the property, among other topics (including family history/genealogy/emigration - thanks for the lovely tea/chat!). Your cottage provided the perfect respite on our 9-day journey through the north and west of Ireland, and we're sure to miss it's charm and idyllic setting long after we've departed.

Jayne, May 2017
Words can hardly describe this property. It was cosy, well furnished with everything you would need. The owners were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for exploring Co. Sligo and Co. Mayo. We will be back and maybe even before the year is out!

This has been our second visit and we're already planning the third! It is a truly magical and unique spot, made even more so by the warmth and hospitality of the hosts family.

The Kroczek Family, Kilkenny, April 2017
This was a short Easter break and probably one of the best Easter's we ever had. Upon arrival, we were struck by John's hospitality, helpfulness and friendliness. The cottage itself is excellently maintained and we appreciated every single aspect of it. The location makes it a perfect base for exploring the natural beauty of County Sligo. The cottage, surrounded by the sounds of nature, guarantees a relaxing and peaceful stay. A big Thank You!

This cottage was the most amazing and relaxing holiday ever. It supplied us with everything we needed and is neat, clean and simple. The owners are probably the nicest people we have ever met. I loved the cottage and will hopefully be back again. Thank you for this fabulous holiday.

Thank you. Had a lovely time in your little cottage. Thank you for showing us your lovely animals.

Reg and Ann (and Paddy the dog), Donegal, April 2016
We enjoyed a week of daily sunshine in the rural surroundings. Birdsong each day, far from the madding crowd. The owner was a mine of information regarding local history and characters. Pleasant morning walks through the local private walks with our mongrel. We enjoyed our evenings in their company, with occassional prompt regarding nature and the future of the planet! We hope to return early Autumn.

Oscar and Marta, Alicante, March 2016
Great vacation! The owners are lovely, welcoming and always attentive to all our needs. They are a very lovely family. They made the stay very enjoybale and we got along with them like our own friends. The house is in perfect condition, well equipped with all the necessities, in a nice, quiet environment.

The Condreys, Cheshire, England, February 2016
We loved staying for a few days in this beautiful cottage. Frosty mornings and sunshine-as well as Irish rain. Our daughter loved helping to feed the friendly sheep and making a new friend, we loved our talks with the owner about the smallholding. Think we've finally found a house to buy-so we'll be back if the sale goes forward. Thanks for all the help and advice.

The Davoine Party, December 2015
The owners were very welcoming and had thought of everything a guest might need. The cottage was lovely and spotless, and the setting quiet and secluded. The perfect place to get away from it all.

Imelda and Colin, Drimbane, November 2015
Thank you to the owners, for your help and kindness. Had a lovely time the last three weeks. See you soon.
