Just come back from a week staying at this beautiful house, my 2nd time staying there and would recommend this location to everyone.
Brown family, August 2016
The property has lovely, extensive views of the sea and was a fantastic size for our party of 8. Remote but within walking distance of the pub! The granddaughter also enjoyed being able to toddle around safely with safety gates in place. The size was also of benefit when the weather was bad as we were not falling over each other, everyone had their own space.

Great house, really chilled 10 days, way too much drinking involved but we all loved it!

The house was like your own home, well equipped and warm. Set in a beautiful setting, beach and pub within 5 minutes walk. Games room and gym upstairs for those rainy days. Great house!

All that you would want and more.....
We stayed here just over New Year's Eve. We arrived on the Wednesday before. This place is remote and hard to find in the dark. My advice is take it easy on the roads and get down to this property while it's bright. We stayed here as part of a family get away. I have to say that the pictures if this property listed really don't do it justice. The property looks slightly small from the front but it's big inside. There is a bedroom upstairs with a gorgeous en-suite opposite the bar / games room. You have an attic window that you can see Achill on the left and Belmullet to the right and sea in between. The beach is literally 5 minute's walk out in front of the house. This house has everything. The kitchen / dining room is big with great views and everything that you would need is here. They have even thought of the kids with a Wii and games , gamer controls. Perfect as we had some older kids in our group. There is a utility room off the kitchen with washing machine and a dryer + cleaning supplies for the house. There are little or no shops for miles so do a main shop in Ballina approx an hour away. Overall I'd have to say that I was very impressed with this property.
Wood family, November 2015
We stayed here as a family of 7 and had a fabulous stay. Nothing too much trouble. We will be returning next year - nice house and great location.

Great property! Really clean and very spacious. The beach was only 2 minutes away which was lovely for daily walks. Suitable for couples or families. A really great stay.

Lovely spacious house
On our arrival the caretaker Lorraine made us feel very welcome. The house is modern with roomy bedrooms, most with en-suite. Plenty of towels, turf and oil and electricity included. The living room has a good quality TV with plenty of channels to watch, Nintendo wii, DVD player, ROKU, so lots to do indoors on a rainy day. Wi-Fi is available as well. The dining/kitchen area is large with 2 large armchairs in front of the turf fire. All in all, very comfortable, warm and cosy. Only a five minute walk from the beach, which when the tide is out is especially beautiful. The views from the house across Blacksod Bay and Achill Island are fantastic. There are several other great beaches a short drive away. A friendly pub is just a few minute walk away. There were no issues at all with the owner allowing us to bring our two dogs along. Due to the close proximity of farm animals, I would have preferred to have an enclosed garden so we could let the dogs out without putting their leads on, but that is only a minor criticism. We played on the Par3 golf course which was literally just across the road, 10 Euros each for as long as we wanted. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Memorable family holiday
We had a wonderful trip to Dohooma with 2 adults and 5 children. The house has everything you will need and more. It is spotless clean and with plenty to do on a rainy day including pool, darts, a wii and other games.WiFi is available and TV has Netflix, YouTube etc. Lots of towels, turf for the fire and tea and coffee for us to use and even some biscuits when we arrived. The views are fabulous and your neighbours are cows (actual cows!!) The kids had them all named and we also spotted a hare passing the window on a few occasions.
We did a lot of driving in the first few days to Westport, Achill and Blacksod lighthouse and so the last few days were mainly spent relaxing in the house with the odd trip to belmullet which is about twenty minutes away and has plenty of places to eat. Locally there is the sea rod Inn where we had some lovely Guinness and the kids made use of the sweet shop next door. They couldn't believe the same lady that served in the bar also served them sweets next door! We didn't get a chance to have some food there but we heard it is lovely. The caretaker was a great help always and I would highly recommend this holiday home for some relaxation. The price was so reasonable that I just wasn't expecting the quality we got.

'Honestly, perfect everything.'
Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The location was great, with a beach 2 minute walk away. Great facilities. Everything was clean and modernised. The Wifi was fast and available all over the house. Plenty of space. Well heated. All round a great stay!!

"Excellent, modern house with beautiful sea views"
I stayed in this property for 6 nights in June and I have to say I can't fault the house. It's spacious, clean and homely, with beautiful views of Blacksod Bay, just a short 5 minute walk away. There was a Nintendo Wii, a roku, a poker set and various other games that kept everyone entertained for the week too. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners sister in law, and we were told that if we needed anything we could just ask her. We were made feel comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend!
The Newell Party, May 2015
Relaxing and extremely picturesque part of the world
We stayed here in May 2015 for a family gathering with 9 adults and 2 children staying in the house. Lorraine was very helpful before and during our stay, giving us clear directions to find the house and recommendations on things to do.
The house itself was very clean with more than enough space to cater for us all comfortably. We thought there was an issue with one of the showers but the caretaker organised for a plumber to look at it that same day and it turned out it was us not turning switches in the correct sequence!
The area itself is very remote and extremely picturesque. I would recommend bringing all supplies you think you might need for your stay. For small things like bread a milk there is a small shop in the pub up the road, Sea Rod Inn. On one of the nights we organised with Bernie at the Sea Rod Inn to provide catering for a meal in the house. The food was really good and very reasonably priced. It was all stress free with nothing too big of an ask.
I would highly recommend staying here to get away from it all and have a relaxing break.
