Carrigaholt, is a picturesque fishing village on the southern side of Loop Head, about 10 kilometres southwest of Kilkee and has a village shop, a number of lively pubs and the award winning Long Dock Restaurant.
The seaside of resort of Kilkee (7 miles) has a long sandy beach, numerous shops, pubs and restaurants, leisure centre, Waterworld and hotel.
A visit to Loophead lighthouse is a must open Saturday and Sunday March and April and daily from May to August. Admission is EUR5, and children under 12 go free.
The Loop Head Heritage Trail won the Global Sustainable Tourism Award 2015 at the WorldTravelMarket in London. The 60km trail takes in 14 local attractions including Loop Head Lighthouse, The West Clare Railway, The Church of the Little Ark, Kilkee Victorian Town and the Bridges of Ross.

The Bridges of Ross (an amazing natural sea arch) is regarded as a premier bird watching point on the West Coast of Ireland. Regular sightings include species such as Leach's Petrel and Sabine's Gull. The Long-tailed Skua (an extreme rarity in Ireland) has also been sighted. The Bird-watching season has been identified as running from July to November with peak season in August/September.
