Overview
This traditional thatch cottage is nestled in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, 3 miles from Mountrath, 5 miles from the heritage town of Abbeyleix and within 1 hour of Dublin city. The property has been lovingly restored yet retains original features including a traditional Irish fireplace in the lounge, exposed oak beams, traditional oak dresser and low doors (not of standard height) which blend in with all modern conveniences which include free Wi-Fi internet access. There are steps both inside and outside the cottage and the laneway leading up to the cottage can be bumpy so care needs to be taken when driving. There is a pond and old feature well in the garden making it unsuitable for children under 12 years. A refundable security deposit of €200 via bank transfer is required prior to arrival.
