Killaloe In County Clare, Western Ireland

At pretty Killaloe, Lough Derg narrows for the final stretch of the great River Shannon's journey to the sea. Narrow lanes leading from the old stone bridge to St Flannam's Cathedral hint at the ancient origins of this picturesque old town. Dinghies and cruisers can be hired from the harbour, and taking a leisurely afternoon cruise is very highly recommended.
