Dingle's streets are lined with gaily-painted shops and pubs. In the 19th century the town was a linen-weaving centre and then fishing dominated until 1970. It was the making of the film, 'Ryan's Daughter' that brought Dingle to the world's attention, and tourists began to flood in for its musical, hisorical, gastronomical - not to mention scenic charms.
