There are more than 10 championship golf courses and several links and parkland courses all within easy driving distance. Local Entertainment: There is a variety of traditional pubs within the immediate area of Roney. One may stroll to Briens of Killenagh, a traditional thatched pub, or visit one of the oldest pubs in Ireland simply named The Post Office! In the Summer open-air entertainment is provided and the nearby 'Sean Ógs' offers traditional and ballroom dancing. The houses at Roney Beach are ideally located for day tours to the many attractions in Counties Wicklow, Kilkenny and Waterford. These include world famous Glendalough, Powerscourt and Mount Usher Gardens in County Wicklow, Kilkenny and Waterford Castles. The National Stud with its Japanese Gardens and nearby Curragh racecourse (Home of the Irish Derby) in County Kildare are less than a two hour drive from Roney Point. The John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, located in New Ross, offers peaceful and tranquil gardens with a variety of beautiful plants and trees. A wildlife reserve is located north of Wexford Harbour where many rare species can be seen. County Wexford and adjacent counties offer a wide range of activities that cater for all interests. Wexford Opera Festival, a world renowned and spectacular event, occurs from mid October to November.
