Mulrany, alias Mallaranny, is a pretty village located on the isthmus between Clew Bay and Blacksod Bays at the entrance to Corraun peninsula. It has been recently awarded THE EUROPEAN DESTINATION OF EXCELLENCE. It has a fine sandy beach and good sporting facilities including a 9 hole golf course. Set off the beaten track in a scenically beautiful area it forms a romantic and tranquil hide away for those eager to escaper the stress of modern life. Just 6.75 miles away is the pretty village of Newport, a haven for anglers and a good base for exploring Achill Islands dramatic scenery and prehistoric remnants.
