Located on the rugged unspoilt North coast of Mayo, 7 miles from Killala and 14 miles from the market town of Ballina, this cosy cottage offers a large garden with uninterrupted views to the sea and an open fire for nights in. At nearby Killala you can buy fresh fish in the evenings. This area has an abundance of historic sites - Ceide fields, Downpatrick Head, megalithic tombs, stone circles, all waiting to be explored. It is a quiet area so walking and cycling are highly recommended. The sandy beaches are vast and largely unpopulated. Fishing trips can be arranged locally or for a faster pace head into Ballina for great pubs, restaurants and shopping.

The scenery is breathtaking and the surrounding areas are a paradise of natural beauty. The nearby beaches of Lacken and Ross are beautiful and peaceful. There are 2 pubs within walking distance (a gentle country stroll), and one 3 miles away which also has a small shop.
The area has much to offer the outdoor enthusiast. You can walk, fish, cycle in the immediate vicinity or venture further afield for more organised activities. The famous River Moy in Ballina/Foxford has some of the best fishing in the world, but you can take a boat out into Killala Bay at nearby Kilcummin.
There are several themed walks in and around Ballina - Sculpture Trail, Western Way and Foxford Way.
There are golf clubs at Ballina, Belmullet, Castlebar and a Championship course in Enniscrone.
The area is also rich in heritage with the 500 year old Ceide Fields in Ballycastle, dramatic Downpatrick Head, nearby abbeys, monastic settlements and round towers.
