Omeath is a small village on Carlingford Lough, in County Louth on the east coast of Ireland, close to the border with Northern Ireland. The area is steeped in Irish history, with spectacular coastal scenery. The property is within a short walk of local pubs, shops and restaurants. It is close to Carlingford which offers many wonderful pubs with traditional music, and great restaurants offering varied cuisine. Newry in County Down, is the nearest major town and is about ten minutes away by car. It boasts two large shopping centres and all the facilities you would expect including a multiplex cinema.
The area is a renowned centre for hill walking in the Cooley and Mourne Mountains. There are excellent well-marked walking trails to suit all levels of fitness. The principal long distance walking route is the Tain Way.
If golf is something you are into, then Louth is the county for you. With some challenging golf courses, nine altogether, and four pitch and putt courses in beautiful surroundings, Louth is every golfers dream.
Sea angling is available locally. Carlingford, 5 miles away, offers shore, rock and boat fishing and there are numerous species to be found. Carlingford is also a haven for adventure and water sports enthusiasts. The adventure centre offers a variety of activities including sailing, canoeing, archery, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, climbing, hill walking.
The seashore of Carlingford Lough is within 200 yds and includes a small beach area. The nearest Blue Flag Beach is at Greenore, only 6 miles away. A passenger ferry operates at regular intervals across the Lough to Warrenpoint, during the summer season.
You enter the house on the top floor. At the entrance there are some steps down to the front door. All the living areas are on this floor, lounge/kitchen/diner with balcony, utility. Toilet and whb, and 1 twin bedroom. There is also a large decked area at this level.
There are stairs down to the lower floor with 3 bedrooms (master en-suite) and full bathroom. There is access to the lower enclosed garden at this level.
