There are a number of superb sandy beaches nearby at places like Inch and White Bay. There is a good sized and well stocked Spar supermarket 3 miles away in Whitegate Village. There is a cinema, an excellent selection of shops, restaurants and larger supermarkets in Midleton which is a 10 minute drive in the car. The Jameson Heritage Centre in Midleton is a must for those interested in the history of whiskey making. Close to Whitegate is Trabolgan Holiday Village which is open to all visitors. It is well equipped with an indoor heated wave pool, go-karting and outdoor play areas. Cobh can be seen across the harbour from the house where there is a museum that chronicles the history of the emigrations and the sinking's of the Lusitania and the Titanic. Other activities that can be enjoyed locally include fishing, cycling, bird watching, forest walks, horse riding, children's playground and pitch and putt.
