Corofin is a quiet, picturesque village on the southern edge of the Burren. The are several fishing loughs in the area, the nearest being Inchiquin and Atedaun. Lake Inchiquin offers game and coarse fishing and nearby is the Dysert O'Dea Castle home for an archaeological centre, the Burren Centre at Kilfenora. Also close by is Caherconnell Stone Fort, at Carran, one of the best preserved stone forts in the Burren.
