Monty Halls and his dog Reuben spent the summer living in Roundstone and working in this beautiful area of western Ireland. Make sure you catch the last few episodes of their adventures and it might well inspire you to find your very own Roundstone Cottage.

Yesterday thousands of people dusted off their walking boots and set off on Reek Sunday for what is probably the most important of the summer’s pilgrimage days to Croagh Patrick, County Mayo. The start of the 6km pilgrimage is traditionally the Boheh Stone which is a large lump of rock that is carved with the most wonderful Neolithic swirling cup and ring carvings; this carved rock is one of the most important examples of pre-Christian rock art anywhere in Ireland or Britain. Those joining yesterday’s pilgrimage have trodden in the ancestral footsteps of pilgrims over literally thousands of years.

Last week saw yet another golfing win for Northern Ireland as Darren Clarke scooped the victory at the Open Championship at Royal St George’s. This is a fantastic win for the dad of two, and both his sons look set to follow in his golfing footsteps. Northern Ireland appears to be the place to create and develop top golfers and many attribute this to the region’s easy access for all to golf and it’s world class courses such as Royal Portrush and Royal County Down. Interested in a golfing holiday to Northern Ireland? Why not take alook at some Golfing Cottages.
